Owners Jon Young and wife Helene Albert opened the restaurant in 1998 when a space became available at 2005 West Roscoe Street. They remodeled the location into a fun and funky 1970’s retro diner serving comfort food with gourmet flair.

The restaurant has been featured on television shows on the Food Channel ($40 a day with Rachael Ray, Chicago), the Travel Channel (Top Ten Fun Food Factories) as well as Chicago’s Best on WGN-TV. They’ve also won numerous awards including Best Brunch from Citysearch.com and Metromix.com and they’ve won the Jack Daniel’s Chicago Chili Cook-Off winners in 2001, 2004, 2007 and 2009.

Kitsch’n on Roscoe offers an eclectic food experience with an ambiance that takes you back to a simpler time. Decorations include toasters, games, memorabilia that will provide you with entertaining conversation while you wait. You can enjoy your meal seated inside or dine alfresco-style in the sidewalk café or their popular tiki beer-garden that’s open year-round (it’s heated with a retractable awning).

Favorite breakfast menu items include Green Eggs & Ham…Sam, Let Go My…Belgian Waffle and Bayou Crab Cake Benedit while dinner favorites include Not Your Mom’s Meatloaf, Fried Chicken & Waffles, Puff Pastry Pot Pies and more.
